So i had these speakers for like a couple weeks now and they are truly amazing

i've noticed that the edges of the cone of the woofer has gotten softer. it was once stiff but now its much more "pliable" im not much of an audio specialist, but does this mean i have broken in the speakers or the cone is wearing down

at 40% these are pretty beastly for the dorms. I think the highest I set them to was at 60%

Anything new and unused will tend to be stiff as far as cones in speakers at first. Now that those are being used the material would become somewhat more pliable since the vibrations cause the back and forth motion of the material itself through normal use.

If you start noticing problems from that speaker then you have to suspect a defect of some type at that time. You would notice it right away! One idea would be simply tuning different stations if you are using a receiver for different types of music with different frequency ranges to see how each plays through them.

oh, im just basically refering to my woofer because i can actually touch the cone

but thanks for the input
