Whenever i turn my pc on,it says something about being ntfs and it is reccomended that i scan for consistency and it starts a scan then says scan cancelled and bring me to my desktop?

Try scheduling the check disk utility for the next startup. That will check for drive consistencies. You may want to type chkdsk /r at the Run command line and try it with the /r repair switch added.

that is the formatting of your harddrive. If you go to your HDD properties it will show the file system (most likely NTFS or FAT32) NTFS is reccomended because you can have larger files on it than you could on FAT32.

I would still advise typing chkdsk /r in at the Run or search line and answering Y for yes to see the repair switch added for the restart. You'll see the command prompt window appear for that. That will check the drive for any errors that can be fixed.
