Default Would you be able to switch this psu out?

My cousin has a Dell 8300 series desktop with a 250 or a 305 watt power supply. Would he be able to switch it out with one of his choice?

http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...&s=gen#1102413

He wants to upgrade his vid card and it requires at least a 350watt psu

That depends. Dell likes to get proprietary, and on certain Dell models, they use a different type of connection for the power. Most use ATX, but Dell has to make it all difficult. Actually, there's another thread about this:

http://www.computerforums.org/showth...pply+converter

There's a link to the site where you can buy the converter on that thread, if you need one.
