Default would this be an ok upgrade?

I have http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...197&Tpk=8500GT

and I was thinking about getting

would it be a good idea to get the 8600? I have to know quick quick cause someone wants to sell me one and I'd like to know ^^

the 8600 still kinda sucks, if you have the means get an 8800gt or even a 9600gt or something.

play games mostly...at a cheap price lol, gonna be playing Age of Conan in the middle of may..and would like to prepare

For $129.99, it's not worth the upgrade. You will see minimal improvement with the 8600GT over your 8500GT.

For the same price, you can get a much better card: XFX GeForce 8800GT 256MB.

The 8800GT offers nearly double the performance of an 8600GT.



How much is the used 8600GT going to cost you?

50 bucks...was gonna be from ebay, but I let it slide lol...never know what condition it would really be in anyways

Even for $50 it would be a waste of money. Save your pennies for something in the 8800 range. You will be much happier in the long run.

sounds good...even something with 256mb of memory? or just save up for 512?

edit: and a good 450watt-500watt psu since I cant SLI in this thing
