Default Workstation Graphics

What defines "workstation graphics"?

Is this die-hard cinema-level 3D? Is it video editing? Perhaps it was made also with Swift3D and MAYA in mind.

But what about Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Flash? Are these too what the NVIDIA Quadro's were designed for?

The current graphics card I have is a 256MB ATI FireGL v7100. Is this for the "lower-class" Photoshop and Flash applications?

So really, the question is whether or not the Quadro is a necessity for my usages. The programs I own and use include the entire Macromedia Studio MX 2004 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 packs. I also have Swift3D and use that occasionally.
