Wireless Routers...all the same?

I may be looking for a new wireless router to use along with my laptop around the house.The one I have now is a 2004 D-link DI-524.

It is a b/g compatible router,my wireless card is b/g...not n.

I remeber buying it at Best Buy for about $10,because there was a $30 instant rebate at the time.

Is there going to be a serious performance difference among wireless routers?

I use TP-Link. User friendly and reliable. And you get a lot of bang for the buck.
