Default Re: Wireless Printer

I think it is possible if you have your printer on a network, with out a nic on it, but it has to have networking capabilities.. I guess no one has tried to make a regular one wireless but

I'm thinking that if you just cut a usb2 cable and spliced it with the female end of a usb cable and stuck one of those wireless jumpdrive things in there, the network probably wouldn't recognize the printer at all... But I guess I could try it

or if you could just buy an adapter and skip all the sutting :P.. whatever.. but I live in a small town and wouldn't find those anywhere ;D

Have you already got the printer you want to make wireless or are you asking for suggestions for one?

i have an old printer that i am interested in makeing a wireless network printer hopefully not connected directly to a pc
and i am also asking for some suggestions of printers that fit the bill
my old printer is a Lexmar Z22 (if that means anything)

worst case senario ill connect my old printer to my desktop above it on one shelf and have that as my personal network printer

Well, the network printers will usually be a model number like 2055 N, N standing for network... With those Im sure you can do what I said up there... because you can do it with a regular cat5.. but with your old one I don't know if the network will recognize it..
