Also if you are playing an internet game the wireless card heats up and shuts down. (at least that happens to me)

If i where you, I would go with WIRES, because wireless SUX, lol, trust me, you will find out.

For a laptop to be in the mix of things, always go wireless for convienence. Makes no sense if you don't use wireless. It's meant for portability so you need to feel comfortable using your laptop in your backyard and still be able to access the net and your other PCs.

Not really. Wireless technology has matured. It's no longer power consuming and laggy (unless you buy some cheapo brand). If you buy ones from Logitech or Microsoft, then you should be good. They make really nice peripherals.
