yea, there is an external network hard drive enclosure you can get from netgear which you can just hook up to a router with cat5e and store away

idk if it would be possible but if someone in your area has wireless they could easily access all your files and/or write to the drive

never thought of that. you would almost need to password protect the entire drive, but even that could be cracked.

but thats what wep and wpa key's are for boys and girls.

It seems there is a wireless hard drive out there

and Iomega do a range of hard drives that can be connected to a wireless router. I think i'll get one of the 320gb versions and give it a go.

but some router can only allow a certain computer to connect, with the wep, and the password protected drive.
