Default wireless adapter

my brother has a compaq presario s6200cl running window xp home edition
my parents have and hp with the modem and router so they are wired but my brother has a wireless adapter a belkin (gay piece of crap) 54g and he either broke it or something else cuz one night it worked and the next day it didnt work so what happened

What do you mean it didn't work. Won't connect, not picking up any networks, connect but no internet/network resources, we need a little more detail.

o sorry the adapter isnt reconized by the computer and the adapter doesnt connect to the router

try a different usb port. sounds like its fcuked though if the pc doesnt detect it

you may need to reinstall the drivers of the belkin adapter, if then it finds the local network then type in the WEP key to access the network.
