Default Re: Wiping your Hard drive

Are there any programs that can wipe sensitive data that is store don your hard drive without deleting the operating system?

Such as eraser - http://www.heidi.ie/node/14

It overwrites all unused space on your hard drive

I installed windows 7 about 3 weeks ago and I was able to use my recovery partition on my hard drive to restore it back to vista.

So if it were possible to use dban on the regular partition of the hard drive (if you can), install windows 7 and then restore it using the recovery partition (or dvd disks).

Would that work out for me :/
