Default WinXP - does not detect sound card

Not happy Jan! You guys helped me downloaded the driver for SiS 7012 Audio Controller, thakyou. But, guess what - i get an error message "UpdateDriverForAudioDevices" with the number "-536870397" when trying to run setup.exe. Upon reply of the SiS Chipset Support, i was told to contact the seller. My god...HELP!!I didnt think formatting my C drive and re-installing WinXP would cause so many probs!!

My computer is not detecting the sound card at all. Is that where the problem is??

If this is an onboard sound card, {meaning on the motherboared} The drivers will be on the motherboard setup Cd. You will also have to enable it in the bios.
