Are they both 32bit? Which vista do you have? (Basic, Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate)

Both are 32 Bit operating systems
Windows XP Professional
Windows Vista Ultimate

And its ok, people make mistakes.

Just get VMware and try vista on that. I didn't see the specs of your computer, but vista does require a bit much.

And for windows 7:

Just find a student at a college and give him 30$. You can get the upgrade from M$ if you're a student.

my signature has my specs and does a student in 10th grade high school count? if i can how might i go about it? e.g asking wise of how / where i would download or something.

How many cores does your processor have? Vista looks like it would run fine on that machine :P

Windows 7 is a bit of a different environment.
You have to have a .edu email address to get it
