well i got this Vista sp1 CD from my friend and i wanna install it..but i put it in the drive an it says cannt run from this version of the OS... okk.. so i restart my computer see if i can boot off the cd..wont let me boot it... okk.. soo now im stuck...cd is good computer reads it...but wont install it

vista is the 64 bit and i got XP pro sp2 32 bit running now..

no one..? lol
 
Are you running a cd drive? Vista comes on dvd disks. That would be one reason for not being able to boot off the disk.

Another item would be either changing the boot order in the bios to see cd rom as the first boot device and remembering to press a key when that request is displayed onscreen. Or on the first post screen when first powering the system up you can press the F8 key to bring up the boot device menu and select the dvd drive under the optical drive catagory for a one session boot. The Asus model in your sig indicates that.
