Default windows xp

i had a friend ask me what would happen if windows xp got installed on 2 computers from the same disc? and i was wondering myself so i thought id post the question somewhere...and here i am...thanks a lot

nothing would happen. i borrowed my friend's XP Pro and used it on my comp. no problems.

yah, one would be registered....at Microsoft & the other would ask you to register, but you don't have to when installing it .

that's what i did...i took my girlfriend's copy of XP and put it on my old Gatway comp....works fine.

Hmmm yeh once i lent my copy of windows xp to a friend and he couldnt activate windows and if u dont i think after 30 days it will not run.

xp is turned on by microsft-
If they have a record of an install it generally will not activate if installed on another machine.
This is usually the home version.-pro version Im not sure about.

ya... but I have a pro disk that I have activated about five times now... and it only is supposed to work three times... hmmm.
