Default Windows startup problem

Ok i have windows xp pro 64-bit and when it gets to the part where its a blue screen and says WINDOWS it stays like that and it wont show my desktop files or wallpaper or anything. If i use safe mode the problem doesint happen. Can anyone please help me out and tell me what u think , thanks

First thin I would check would be the memory. Try booting with one stick at a time if using multiple sticks. You can also use Memtest to test your memory for errors.

umm how would he do that if, he cant get on the computer?

How is he posting here?

Memtest is a program that is put on a floppy. You boot to the floppy and run it from there.

Or he could run the Windows version in safe mode
