Default Windows Roll Back

Ok. Firstlyi would like to appoligse if i am in the wrong section for this and i have looked for wat im about to ask but could not find it anywhere...

i have just put windows XP on my mates Vista laptop for him but being the idiot i am forgot to backup his photos...i know there is a way of getting them back but im just not sure how, if anyone could please help me it would be greatly appreciated. im not sure wat specs you need if any

Did you format the partition and then install XP?

Probably the only option is software like GetDataBack for NTFS.

If you formatted and installed there is no roll back.
