windows media player reinstall???

i downloaded windows media player 11 and it dodn't work. now ot won't let me roll back or reinstall 10. I am thinking of restoring windows media player using the windows xp cd. will this work?

can't you just download windows media player 10?..

I did and it said that there is already a newer verson on the computer then the install just quits

I have had that problem with Windows media player, did you do a system restore before installing the software, if so the simplest solution is to roll back to the restore point before you installed version 11.

If not then I am afraid I can't help any further...

there isnt a restore point before windows media player 11 was installed
