Default Windows Areo

My Video card will not support windows Areo can i still install Windows Vista Home Premium and run it just fine?

Your 8600GT won't support Aero? That doesn't sound right being that it a DX10 compatible card. Even XFX says "built for Windows Vista gives users the best possible experience with the Windows Aero 3D graphical user interface."

That is what I was thinking but when i ran windows vista upgrade adviser it said that it wont support windows areo do u think that is true

Your 8600 will support aero, if your on about another card, then you can still run vista but without aero (providing the rest of the specs meet requirements)

That's funny. The Windows Update Adviser is wrong.

But to answer your earlier question, Vista will work just fine without using Aero. it just won't be as "pretty".

It will support aero with no issues. My X300SE ran aero, if it can run it then your 8600 will definitely run it with no problems!
