Windows 98 USB compatible with SE?

I just bought a Wireless B Network adaptor for a laptop I have. The only problem is that on the box, the System Requirement says Windows 98 SE while I only have the original Win 98 (not Second Edition). Before I open the package and render it unreturnable, what is the chance that the USB adapter will work with my older Windows 98? Is there any kind of update I can just for the USB drivers?

I looked and 2nd edition of Win98 is still very expensive.

not shure bout that, i would check Microsoft.com to see if it is compatible.

Well I just went for it and tried to install it.
Windows gives the blue screen of death whenever the adapter is inserted into the USB port so it looks like I'm out of luck. At least it was only $18 after the rebate.

bummer...sorry to hear it did'nt work, what is the devise manager saying about the conflict ...will have a yellow (!) next to the devise that has the conflict.
