windows 98 and a dialup connection

hey, my grandmother just got online (dialup) and I was setting up the inernet connection. she has to put her password in every time she connects and the options to "save password" and "connect automatically" are greyed out, does anyone know how to fix this or know why it's greyed out?

Usually, once you put some characters in the password box, it should give you that option to save it. If not, I would try reinstalling the ISP software to see if it works.

well when I put the password in those options don't show up, and it's not software from the isp, it's windows 98 connection manager.
