I've got an old(er) PC sitting in my room, and I was sick and tired of trying with Linux, so I installed Windows 2000 on it.

Now how exactly do I set up my internet connection? I've got an ethernet cable running from the computer in my room to the router in my living room. I'm clueless as to where I go from now, because all the options I see are for dial up.

If you have the network card drivers installed, it should automatically get an IP and your good to go. No setup wizard needed.

Could it be my ethernet cable is shot then? A little message comes up in the corner every now and then saying a cable is unplugged, when clearly, it is.
