Default Willl this work?

I am buying a windows XP disk and i was wondering if buying this OEM disk would work just fine. Is the only difference that i would have to go to newegg for support instead of Microsoft?

That will be fine. You will go through Microsoft for all support. When you buy the OEM version, all you're getting is the CD and key in a just a cardboard sleeve. The retail version comes with the fancy box and manuals. Both versions carry the same support and warranties from MS.

I actually do use pro and I am a fan but it really depends on your budget I guess if your willing to spend a little extra I would recommend it as well.

It's an easy answer esa193. XP is cheaper and runs faster on older and lower speed computers. Vista is more expensive and resource intensive and really needs up to date hardware to run properly.

Yes, the OEM version is the better deal.
