Will this work like an expensive card?

No. SLI uses about 40% of the second card and I don't think the perfomance would match up to better single cards. At a budget of $200, your best bets are to go with either the HD4850 for resolutions above 1650x1080 or 8800GT/9800GTX+. The 9800GTX+ might even outperform the HD4850 at higher res. I'm not sure. The 8800GT might also outpeform the 9600GT in SLI. Again, not too sure. I, personally, would go with the 9800GTX+.

My first assumption was correct thus I change my mind. The HD4850 does perform better at higher res. (starting at 1650x1080). Go with that. It will run hotter, but it's cheaper. If you can get the version with the MSI heatsink, I would.

If your setup runs at a res. like mine (1440x900) go with the 9800GTX+.

ok another question, i am not gonna be running on a awesome monitor probaly a crt (really big huge out back one the ancient ones) what card would be better know?

9800GTX. better at lower resolutions. I don't know of CRTs that get a resolution as high as 1650x1080.

If you're running at something like 1280x1024 or even lower you could use a 8800GT and get away with decent-good graphics on high-end games.
