Hi all, I have an Acer Aspire RC500, It has a very small 120GB IDE hard drive, I would like to install a 500GB or 640GB sata HDD, I brought a 2 in 1 IDE to sata converter a while ago and it doesn't quite fit, I am now looking at this item http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com.au/viewitem?itemId=300792882660&index=14&nav=SEARCH&nid=33963272739. Will this work for what I want, If not please tell me what I would be needing.

I bought one of those ebay sata-ide converters a while back. It caught on fire the first time I turned the computer on after installing it... After that experience, I personally wouldn't trust any of them.
Besides, that isn't what you want. That allows you to use an IDE drive with a sata mobo, not the other way around. Get a pci sata controller or an external enclosure.

120 is enough for the OS to run on. Why not get an external drive for it?
What you posted does seem to be backwards. No experience with this, but: Amazon.com: HDE IDE to SATA or SATA to IDE Adapter: Computers & Accessories seems to be what you would need (this actually works in both directions according to reviews and description)

A pci to sata would be best. Check SIIG online. They make all kinds of interface cards. Star Tech has them also.

I would like a bigger drive to put more files and program's on, As it is a media PC it will be hooked up to a TV via HDMI once I get GPU that can do that but for now it will be hooked via VGA.
