No, they're not compatible. To use DDR memory, your system has to specifically support the technology.

Smile Re: Will SDRAM work on the DDR motherboards?

My motherboard supports SDRAM, I know it won't support DDR. What I would like to know is the opposite. Will motherboards supporting ddr also support sdram? the motherboards on this link seem to support both- (http://motherboards.bizrate.com/buy/...d--SDRAM.html).

Is it just me or does this motherboard run sdram and ddr?
ASUS A8N-SLI Motherboard
ATX - nVidia nForce4 SLI - AMD - Athlon 64, Athlon 64 FX, Athlon 64 X2 - DDR SDRAM - 4 GB RAM

Just tried it yesterday to turn my old S754 motherboard into a server, it didn't work. I had old PC100 SDRAM lying around.
