Widescreen or Regular

Ill be getting a new monitor today, and was just wondering whether I should get a widescreen or regular monitor. What are the pros and cons of widescreen vs. standard and vice verca. I will mainly be using the monitor for games and occaisinal movies.

Widescreen allows you to view movies in widescreen, but it'll cost you in games. You'll lose frames due to the increased size. I'm using widescreen and I love it. I could never go back to my old 17".
