Talking Why XP Media Center Edition?

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting XP Media Center edition but before I do, I just wanted to know what the advantages to it are...

Is it basically compatible with everything that regular XP is with?

Thanks

It's basically Windows XP with the Media Center extension and Royale theme included. When you use the Media Center, you can watch videos, movies, listen to music, the radio etc.

You can also do the same thing with regular Windows XP. Doesn't it come with like a remote control or something?

It takes time to make the slide shows and organize stuff with the Media Center section. I dont think its worth having. Neither is professional, for the computer life I have. Home suits me fine.

Well the Media Center makes things easier if you have a HTPC (Home Theater PC) since you can easily use a remote to move around the UI and play things.

Media Center Edition 2005 is OEM, so you only buy a disc because it's supposed to be for companies that do pre-built PC's (like Dell, HP/Compaq etc.).
