Have you ever dusted the computer? Maybe something is overheating inside.

When you say the screen goes blank, i'm assuming the computer is still on since you have to restart (you probably mean turn it off and on manually, right?)

have you ever even thought it's the power user?

maybe it goes off because it's unactive

if this is not the problem then it maybe over heating.

put your laptop on a desk flat, leave it turned OFF for 20mins, go back to the laptop, switch it on, get a timer time how long its on for.

when it goes of, leave it for 20mins, now put the laptop in mid air so air gets out, now time it again, if its over 5mins longer then last time it's your heeating

ok i believe it is over heating because i the thermal heatsink compound i had on there has dried up a good bit and is now way to thick and basically crusted... so im going to clean it up and re-apply some more compound and see if it helps any...

btw i actually have the bottom of the laptop removed and it is sitting upside down in full ventilation, thats why i believe its the compound
