You have little screws you have to screw into the case. Then you put your motherboard on top of that and then put the red washer with the mounting screws. If you mounted your motherboard straight onto the case, the motherboard will short circuit.

Holysky didn't you see the stand offs when you took the board out of the old case? They're there for a reason. And it could cook the board if it was shorted to the case.

If he bought the computer already built it may not have had risers in it, my old HP that just died hasn't got them, the box has raised screw holes.

yep easy mistake for a beginner swapping out cases like that from a pre built

Also without the risers the rear connections would be out of line and PCI cards won't fit.

Just checked that Risers would come with your case too.

everything looks normal and i have put the risers on. The green MOBO light is on, but when i turn on the PC i get nothing.
