Yes - but you should have the option to change it.

I found that SP2 took away that option...

didnt for me.. Its windows XP lite.. Like I said before.. It takes most of the stuff away to make windows less.!

Hehe...

It's called ObjectDock. Do a quick Google search on it, and you'll get all the information you need. I'm using the Silver Windows Theme; I used to have a custom one, but I had to reformat and haven't bothered to patch it back so that I can use a custom one. I'm happy with the silver one, anyways.

I put everything in the start menu. Nothing but the recycle bin on my desktop.

Get rid of the Recycling Bin! There's a program called TweakUI that will get rid of it.

It's bothering me!

the only thing ive got on my desktop is the recycle bin..i liek things to look clean and simple aswell...the only things as close to icons is the quick launch menu which only consist of firefox, media player and msn..other than that, nothing!
