some people have been saying that 2x7800's will make ur comp better than just 1x. How? does it speed it up? do the graphics get better? What is it?

Having two video cards gives you twice the graphics power. It is like having a dual core processor. Like they say two heads is better than one.

Imagine a car with a turbo....then imagine a car with twin turbo's...thats what it's like. they work together to give you awesome graphics power...but at quite a price, 7800's aren't cheap.

its not quite 'TWICE THE AMOUNT OF A SINGLE CARD", correct me if im wrong, but ive read that having 2 256mb cards still only counts as 256mb, and its not the same as having one 512mb card. BUT in other aspects having two cards is almost as good as having the theoretical times two policy. One thing is for sure, there is no single card out there that can beat two 7800s. having two will give you the performance of one full one and about 60-70 percent of the second one's separate specs, im telling you this based on the cpu magazine results. so there you go.

Atually, the x1800xl oc'ed can beat two 7800gtx's in sli. 512mb is not really being used right now. Until game developers can really utilize that much memory, 256mb stays.

So why is the 512 on the market if that much power isn't even doing you any good except draining your wallet?

It’s there because it can be there… get my drift? Also, vendor’s want people to buy expensive things because it’s more money for them. Also, it could be good for the future but you can never tell the future, so, why bother? Yeah…
