Default Why does my computer......

turn off by its self?Ive only had this problem when i have 2 programs running at once.for example Mcafee virus scan running while windows media player is running = computer turn off.Or have The game Morrowind running by its self = computer turn off.

Could my computer be using to much energy or thinking it is so it turns off?

It's possible that the computer is overheating. When a computer gets too hot, it will automatically turn off to prevent damage to the system. TO find out the temperatures, you can use this free utility, motherboard monitor:

I would say your answer is overheating
I had this problem with the game Command and Conquer Generals.. Sound Familiar? after about an hour of play, sometimes more sometimes less, it would just shut off..

That could be hard to find if you have a computer that you didn't build yourself. Can you at least give us the model number of the computer you have? (assuming you didn't build it) For example, it could be Dell Dimension C521.

Download CPU-Z here and it should tell you the manufacturer and model under Mainboard.
