Default where does the dvd writer connect to

i have a computer that has a dvd writer and my brother in law got a cd program stuck in it i was able to take it out but i am not sure what cables for the dvd writer plug into can some one send me a picture of the inside of a computer tower so i can see how the cables connect and what they connect to my email is terri61@hotmail.com use the picture as an attachment. right now the dvd writer cable goes from the cd rom to the dvd writer the light does not come on for the dvd writer so i don't know what else could be wrong.
any help would be appreciated.

you will have a small conector block about cm wide and 5 mill deep. it has color coded cables in it, that is your power. that may be linked to other cd or dvd or hard drives.
then you have the rbon which you connect to your mother board.
i suggest you red up on this ther are plenty of sites you can visit.
