Default where is the boot.ini file

i cannot find the boot.ini on my windows xp home computer. I even searched for it but i had no success. Can someone please tell me where it is?

ok i hav e to warn you to make a backu of it on a floppy first ok got that

one way is

1) goto explorer click 'tools' then 'folder options' then go to the 'view' tab scroll down a little bit then uncheck hide system protected operating files

thats the advanced way but there is another way

2) goto control panel click 'system' go to the tab named 'advanced' go down to 'startup and recovery' and click onit this is a simple way of dealing with the boot.ini file with out going in to notepad and stuffing the whole thing up
