Default When will it be time to upgrade?

I was wondering at what point games will demand a better pc (vista and direct x10)? How many years roughly? Or if less which I seriously hope not! And how long do you think mine would last?

Thanks alot in advance.

There is a game right around the corner that is a DX10 game and will bring many systems to their knees.

its called Crysis, and its just a matter of time before more come

Once Vista is released things will start picking up in speed and I would guess that in a year or so you will want to be upgraded to Vista and a DX10 card if you want to play the current games on their recommended settings. However, games like Crysis will still be compatible with DX9 cards as well and Im sure others will follow suit for a little while anyway. Your system should hold up and so i don't think you need to worry just yet.

I'd personally wait about 6 months to a year or more after vista is released to hop into that so things will be evened out a bit and by that I mean that more DX10 games should be out, bugs should be out of vista for the most part and DX10 cards should be a bit more affordable.
