whats wrong with my pc

okay my pos keeps giving me this message that says
'Windows Explorer has encountered a problem.......'
wtf is up with that
whats going on
i cant even look at any pics that i have in my folders
any help is appreciated

Did you run virus scans? What does your computer do before the message? Has it been locking up or crashing when it does this?

no crashing to say of
it just tries to draw the thumb nails of about 50 or so backgrounds
and it will studder and slow down
almost to the point of stopping
then it will give me this message
and then it will close all of the open folders
ive ran ccleaner and that halfway fixes the problem
ill try to run spybot and adaware
depending on how long that takes my dell 2400 with a 2.8 ghz cpu
i could try to run a virus sweep
do you think i should quick sweep
or complete sweep?
