Default What's the difference between Opteron and Athlon?

I'm not sure if I want to get 2 dual core opteron 280's or the 2 dual core Athlon 4800+. So, what's the difference?

I think OPterons have 3 HyperTRansport things and FX and 64 series only have 2. Something like that.

WEll, opteron's are massive server cpu's. Dual core's are just regular user ones, but the 4800+'s will do a similar job to the opteron's. If the price isn't too much different, I would so go opteron's, although the architecture of the 4800+ will probably fair better in games.
