Whats better?

lol, what do you mean, you "heard that Intel will release a new chip" ? you work for em don't you, LOL!

As for multitasking, the most, probably, 4 ff tabs, iTunes, a few anti-programs, and downloading or uploading.

Also, Amish Kid, what mb do you recomend for the opteron?

I'm in a different department. I'm not informed about new releases.

Yeah, the 2nd option will work for you.

@ Nate: I dont see anything inappropriate about that quote. People that write articles will use the term "pornography". If the mods have a problem with it, ill take it out immediately.

Moving on now, price cuts for the A64 are due out pretty soon. But since AMD classifies the S939 Opterons as "server" processors, they wont get price cuts until Socket F comes out. Conroe, Intels new answer to AMD is due out in July. Conroe will be mostly all dual core, with one or two as single cores. Pricing for Conroe is very competitive. I would just wait a little bit. AM2 is only going to increase a little in memory bandwidth and higher range of processors running higher clock speeds possibly.

A motherboard that can handle high fsb's. Like a DFI Ultra D would be good.

Also opterons are good for gaming too. They are basically the same as a San Diego core which is what the FX series uses.

The new chip you are talking about is conroe. I have heard that it is supposed to come out sometime this summer. So far benchmarks have been really good but I would wait untill more people start getting ones that arent ES(Engineer Samples I think).

EDIT: Ok I see what you are talking about now Nate it's in his sig. Who cares? Its funny.

AMD Opteron is better, but people say make sure you get the good steping. or u wont get the good overclock,

Okay, so as of now I should get the athlon 64. Okay, so no opteron for me. Also, will the price cuts be right at AM2?

I might be able to push it up a notch

If you are going to push it up a notch, i would go with a big jump rather than going for a 3500+. Look for a 3700+ San Diego. Exactly like an opteron. Thats the only "upgrade" i would get. If not, stick with the 3200+ and save some money.

That video card is the super clocked edition... I have heard bad things about it.... but these are just rumors as far as I know.
