I just built my new system...Asus M4A785-M mb, AMD Phenom X4 9850 2.5gh CPU, 2x2gb Crucial DDR2 800 RAM...and I'm having the long running ATI2DVAG BSOD error - I didn't know about it prior to this build, but it's been going on for years apparently. There doesn't appear to be any single solution, some work for some people, some can't ever seem to fix it. So...I have two options...I can RMA the board and get something compatible with all my other hardware, of which there are only a few options, or I can buy a new video card...it wouldn't cost much to match or exceed the ATI Radeon onboard video. My question is, would a new card solve the problem? That is, I assume if I install a video card, it would disable the onboard video and the problem would be solved, right? Or no? I'd much rather do this than rebuild the system, reload the drive etc. I don't mind buying the card, I can upgrade actually as I'm doing video work with it. I appreciate your thoughts on the matter.
