pretty meh, but gets the job done...

back to the OP...

if you can buy at Newegg, go with the 4850 or the 9800GTX, it's in your price range and if you upgrade your monitor you'll already be good to go for higher res with either card...

Sure, CRT has a better color clarity. But putting all the pros and cons together. The LCD wins when weighing the good AND the bad.
