i have a choice of ether of these

albatron 8800GTS 512mg (G2)- this one has been getting better frames in tests.
Or
MSI GF8800GT 512M OC-this one has a better core speed
the gts is only $20 more

Do you have to get one of those?

XFX and EVGA are much more dependable

I think you answered it yourself when you said

You can always overclock the 8800GTS more and get even more performance out of it.

The MSI 8800GT OC would be the card to get. It outperforms the 8800GTS and has the newer G92 core. MSI has a good reputation for building quality products. Besides, it's in stock at Umart.

8800GTS 512MB with the G92 core is the best (besides the 8800GTX obviously)

No kidding? Most of the 8800GTS available that I have seen are based on the G80 core.
