I want to be able to play f.e.a.r seamlessly and everything else. Right now i got a geforce fx 5200 and it bombs when it plays f.e.a.r or farcry. Yet it runs doom 3 just fine.

they are both about the same... (very good card)... but i recommend the geforce. Exspecially if you know how to overclock or you want to overclock. And the gaming on the geforce would be better. Biggest difference between the two is that the ati has VIVO which you probably won't use.

hmmm im torn. Idk what one to get. I wish i knew if f.e.a.r would play better on the 2. I know doom 3 uses open gl which nvidia is good at and gets better fps out of the 6800 than the x800

6800gt, use rivatuner to unlock the extra pipelines, then ull be set. EASILY the 6800gt over the x800xl

unlock the extra pipelines? could you explain that? Do you mean overclocking. But if I go with the 6800gt...what brand is the best to use...I can't do pci 16 so it'd have to be agp
