Default what tpe of ram?

Find By RAM Type. This is the question i was asked whe looking at motherboards.
i am trying to gather knowledge on these things as i am an eager novice. i know my motherboard could be better (abit sa7). i have p.4 2.6ghz cpu 266mb ram and a decent graphics card. i am using the built in sound chip.
could anyone let me know what the significance is with the type of ram?

Some types of ram are faster than others so it depends what type of ram you have

adding on, ddram is probably the best you can get for the dollar, but rdram is probably better(real expensive), and sdram is old style, alot slower than ddram.
