but not all games have the same outcome.
It all depends on how graphics intensive the game is.

Depends entirely on the size.
If you're talking about an old CRT:
15" - 1024x768
17" - 1280x1024
19" - 1280x1024 - some of the newer ones can manage 1600x1200.
21" - 1600x1200 and 1920x1440 for some of the better CRTs

I have a 22" that does 1920x1440 @ 85Hz

The nice thing about good CRT's is that they have higher refresh rate than most LCD's.

worshipme, don't you have a LCD that refreshes at 85 Hz? I wanna know what one if you do.
