Default What ram should i get?:S

Operating System
Windows 8 64-bit
CPU
AMD A8-5500 81 °C
Trinity 32nm Technology
RAM
4.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-12-28)
Motherboard
MEDION MS-7800 (P0) 60 °C
Graphics
LCD MONITOR (1440x900@60Hz)
22W_LCD_TV (1920x1080@30Hz)

I would like to upgrade my ram as it is all I can afford at the moment and was wondering what I should get as I'm unsure as to what my not so good motherboard will support.

Thanks

Can't find any real info on your board, do you still have the manual it would have come with? (longshot)

Those are really low memory speeds, looks like the PC it's self shipped with 600-800MHz memory, whereas the lowest DDR3 kits you'll find will be 1333MHz, and these are getting hard to find at 1600MHz becomes the new low-end.

Looks like that's running at 1600MHz (dual data rate remember), I haven't found any board details either, you need to see the max capacity of the board really.

I refuse to believe that it can't be upgraded more than 8gb. I haven't seen a limit below that on a desktop for a very long time. And the PC is not older than 2012 (The socket is from 2012). So lets go with that. It's plenty.
a 2x4 kit is what you need. Running at 1600-1866mhz with some better Cas latency.

Something like this will do fine.

It's CasL-9 running at 1600mhz using only 1.5V. Good price aswell. 50 USD.

Don't bother. It will work.
Remember not to run this RAM together with your old RAM.

If you wan't to be sure.
Here is a thread talking about an aldi (dicount market place) computer with that motherboard.
They say it supports 4gig on each dimm. So 8 in total.
It's in german btw, but you can translate it using google

ALDI-PCs mit OEM Mobos (MS-7800) bremsen 8GB-Aufrüstung aus

Out of interest, why are you recommending that he buys two new 4GB sticks?

EDIT: Doh, just noticed he has two 2GB sticks at the moment... ignore my comment lol
