i am using this motherboard for a new computer i am building for my brother and would like to know what ramhttp://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=23394412424&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X3NwZWNpZmljYXRpb25z&product_uid=112169
i was told this http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/82243
but it appears not to fit, and also when installing a processor, do i need thermal grease? thanks

that ram and that mobo should work together. Both are ddr2, so both have 240 pins.

And about the cpu. It needs thermal compound. If you bought a new cpu (retail) the heatsink should have some kind of thermal compound already on it. If it doesn't then you need to put the thermal compound there yourself. And you can also remove the compound from the heatsink if you wish to use another compound.

it has a furry like underneath, is that the compound? the ram wont fir, it seems to be about 2 mills out on the central notch

that white thing on the center of the heatsink is the thermal compound.

i'm not sure they have. don't double post, and did you unlock the edges of your ram slots first? Thats common

Otherwise, i'd just try to make sure that both sides are even, before applying any pressure what so ever. Sometimes the RAM is not in the right place at the start, so just check it out, and try again.
