Default What are my limits?

AMD Sempron Processor 3000+
1.0GB RAM
RADEON 9700 PRO

In all serious, gaming wise; what are my limits?

Thought i'd ask before I went out and got some of the 'newer' PC games. I heard RADEON PRO 9700 could play 'anything', but on low quality. Crysis seems to play fine on low quality, as does Unreal Tournament 3. Am I better off upgrading my PC into a proper gaming PC?

Yes. That Processor is not even Dual Core. And 1.0 GB of ram is usually the lowest required.

Yeah, I was told I should upgrade to a dual. This PC was only meant to play MMORPGs decently, now I wish to push it to the max.

Its not going to take much to max it.
if at all possible I'd try to build a new rig. You can do it for fairly cheap now a days.

Should I just earn myself $1500 and build myself a decent pc from scratch?

You could probably build a very high end gaming PC with $1500 (assuming you're only building the tower). I would save $800-1000 and then build a new one.

Definitely upgrade.

I started with a Socket A CPU about 2 years ago and I quickly realised that I needed a faster chipset, more/faster RAM and dual core high cache CPU.

Save up and build a nice PC.

just put what game you want to play
and click can you run it
it installs a bit of stuff but its safe
and you can remove them after you're done from the control panel
