Default What motherboard? (Among other things)

Hey,

My brother's building a new comp, which currently stands at something around an E8400 (would get the X3110...but can't find it here), 4850 HD (should we go for Sapphire's heatsink or go with a reference build?) http://www.digitec.ch/ProdukteDetail...rtikel=151578), 4GBs of DDR2 800.

Now I need a motherboard recommendations...I was thinking a P45? Anyway- it needs to be a somewhat popular motherboard or else I won't be able to get it here (Switzerland is pretty lean on the comp market). Anything DFI, MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, or Foxconn is ok....but other obscure brands aren't...as they simply aren't sold here. A newegg link is fine...I'll just search for it on the swiss site I'm usin.

Also, I'd like something with an FSB wall of 400 or greater....looking for about a 3.6-3.8 clock on that E8400....will the AC Freezer 7 Pro be an ok heatsink for this?

One more thing, I'm looking at getting this PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139002 Can anyone comment on if it's a wise choice...because it is very expensive. I know that getting a good quality PSU is vital...but is this...overkill?

Thanks for the tips

I'd go for whatever's cheapest, the stock HSF can still do the job if you turn up the fan speed to around 35% (which is still inaudible). But if you can get a non-reference design for the same price, go for it.

I'm running a P35, and I hit 500 FSB with my E3110, so if you want to save a bit of money on the motherboard, a P35 is still a safe bet. Something like the ASUS P5K or the Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R.
As for the HSF, look at the Xigmatek HDT-S963 or the OCZ Vendetta over the ACF7PRO.

I think that PSU's a bit overkill for that build. Hiper PSUs should be available in Switzerland. Look at the Hiper Type-M 530W.

Thanks a lot for your recommendations. They didn't have either Heatsink at the store...so we went with a Zalman. Anyway, the computer is built up and running smoothly. Overclocking time!

It's running @ stock speeds @ 24C...so so far it's doing a good job. I doubt heat will be the limiting factor anyway....it definitely was overpriced though >.>
