What is most important spec on a computer for Graphic design

Im thinkig of buying a computer for my graphic design degree!

I was just wondering what is the most important thing my computer needs to run the graphic design and 3d modeling programs on it,

does it need a good procesor? memory? graphics card?

How intense of 3D modeling? Just basic geometry, or fully rendered scenes? I would say get a relatively fast processor, with a decent sized memory. It can take some time to apply layers in image programs, expecially if they are complicated, so you'd need the memory there, and the processor will help when converting file types. Now, you'd need a GPU with good technology (not necessarily speed) to render a scene with realistic detail. Go check out the new Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX. It has some amazing technology built in.

well it needs a multitasking proc like an intel or an opteron if u want a amd. of course it needs a gfx card made for that kind of stuff like a fire gl or a quadro. if ur planning to do heavy gfx design that is. if not then you dont really need such a powerhouse.
